Some background
Bastrop is extending Blakey Lane from Edward Burleson Lane to a proposed street called Reed Way, south from Reed Way to an intersection at Old Austin Highway, with roundabout options.
Construction—estimated to cost $7 million-$8 million and be funded with transportation impact fees, roadway maintenance fees, and water and wastewater fees—is scheduled to begin May 25, according to city documents.

Blakey Lane is north of Sendero, a 75-acre mixed-use development under construction along Hwy. 71.
Sendero will be developed in multiple phases through 2030, with its first retail and dining openings anticipated this year, according to developer Pearl River Companies.

The $836,610 will be paid for through the Blakey Land Acquisition Fund, according to city documents.
