Home prices and the number of homes sold are on the rise throughout Williamson County.

According to the October 2015 county housing market report by the Williamson County Association of Realtors, 865 houses were sold in the county in October, or a 10-percent increase from last year. During the same time period, the median price for Williamson County homes increased by 6 percent to $235,000.

WCRealtors President Jack Stapleton said in a press release the association is excited to see a strong end to the fourth quarter, which was at risk of a market slowdown due to discussions about rising interest rates.

“There is chatter the Feds may raise interest rates in December, but as of right now we have steady buyer demand outside our typical selling season,” he said. “The under $350,000 market continues strong, but we are seeing inventory age slightly and some sellers adjusting pricing in the higher price ranges.”

Throughout the county, homes for sale spent an average of 43 days on the market, and the number of active listings in October was up 5 percent compared with the year prior.

In Georgetown, the median home price fell 2 percent to $233,500. Homes spent on average 39 days on the market, a 22-day decrease compared with October 2014.

In Cedar Park, the medium home price rose 19 percent to $270,000, and homes spent 37 days on the market on average. And in Leander, the median home price rose 22 percent to $226,900, and homes spent 69 days on the market on average.

Median Round Rock home prices rose 9 percent to $215,000, and houses spent 33 days on the market on average. Hutto saw the median home prices increase 15 percent to $184,500, and homes spent 36 days on the market on average.
