The city of McKinney is continuing its efforts to include resident feedback during the process to update the city's comprehensive plan, which is used to help guide growth and development within the city during the next 25 years.

Priorities identified in the plan will influence where new homes, businesses and amenities are built within McKinney.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to attend an interactive community design workshop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Collin College Higher Education Center, 3452 Spur 399. Lunch will be provided.

The workshop will allow residents to engage with city staff and design professionals to explore issues, generate ideas and solve problems relating to land use, parks, transportation, economic vitality and other quality of life issues.

“We have developed the ONE McKinney 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update to be driven by public input, so we want people to attend and share their ideas so this truly is a vision that is designed by the community,” said Planning Manager Jennifer Arnold. “We had a great turnout at our community summits held in September and got great feedback during Oktoberfest. We want to carry that momentum into this event and look forward to engaging more with our citizens.”
