Pflugerville-based firearm company TrackingPoint is accepting new orders after temporarily suspending operations in the spring, the company announced Tuesday.

TrackingPoint develops precision-guided firearms that eliminate potential user-created shooting errors. The company relocated to Pflugerville from Austin in 2013 after the Pflugerville Community Development Corp. worked out an incentive to reduce the company's rent at the 130 Commerce Center by $5,000 for each employee hired with a salary of $100,000 plus benefits, among other incentives, Community Impact Newspaper reported at the time.

After a financial and operational restructuring that reinstated the company's founders in their original positions of CEO and Vice President of Engineering, the company began accepting new orders and filling its backlog of existing orders, according to a TrackingPoint press release.

"This is a new beginning for TrackingPoint," TrackingPoint CEO John McHale said in a statement.  "We will focus intently on the consumer, continue to innovate, and operate in a way that ensures long term success."

In a statement, TrackingPoint board member Eric Olson said he is glad to see the company moving forward.

"This is innovation at its best, with a real and meaningful purpose for security forces and war fighters," he said.
