City Council approved revising the speed limits on several city streets at a July 1 meeting.

The updated ordinance revises speed limits on sections of Coit Road, Cotton Gin Road, Gaylord Parkway, Hillcrest Road, Network Boulevard and Panther Creek Parkway.

Some roadways, such as Coit Road, will increase their speed limit as high as 45 mph. Network Boulevard is the only roadway decreasing its speed limit, now to 35 mph.

Speed limits are established either by a speed study or a trial run. In September 2007, City Council adopted an ordinance to establish speed limits within Frisco.

Because of new roadway construction and updated speed studies, city staff recommended modifying the speed limit on a few sections of roadway.
