The company presently occupies multiple spaces in the office park at 701 S. Persimmon Street. Representatives from APS, PDN Consulting, Inc. and Primetex Corporation were in attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony.

"This [expansion] will add another 12,000 square feet," APS President Peter Goldsmith said. "It's going to be used for shipping, inventory and administrative offices."

Founded in 2007, APS manufactures high-pressure water equipment and accessories for surface preparation, rust removal, sewer cleaning and hydrodemolition uses. APS also operates a subcompany, APS Plastics, within the same building complex. As a whole, the company staffs 55 employees in Tomball.

Goldsmith said the expansion is necessary due to increased demand within the business.

"We need more space for more equipment," Goldsmith said. "Currently, we have administration offices scattered [throughout] the building, and that's all going to become manufacturing. Architecturally, [the new building] is going to be fancier."

The new facility will be built across from the company's original building within the same complex. Construction is expected to begin this week and complete in about six months.
