Three Pflugerville police officers and one Round Rock police officer were honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving Texas at the Travis County Law Enforcement Recognition Program on Sept. 20.

"MADD is honored to recognize the heroes in law enforcement in our community that help keep our roads safe," MADD Texas Executive Director Jaime Gutierrez said. "The officers of the Round Rock and Pflugerville police department[s] are truly committed to stopping drunk driving and underage drinking as demonstrated by their tremendous efforts this past year."

Sgt. Chet Vronka, who has been with the Pflugerville Police Department since June 2001, was awarded the Diamond Hero Leadership Award, which is given to chiefs, commanders and supervisors in Travis County who show commitment in providing their agencies with resources, support and training.

He also received the Jaime Padron Memorial Award, which is given to an officer in Travis County who exhibits superior commitment to DWI enforcement.

Senior Officers Tyler Summers and Israel Limas with Pflugerville, and officer Tom Sloan with Round Rock received the Commitment Hero Award for showing superior commitment to their departments.
