Kevin Brady is the projected winner in the race for U.S. House District 8 race. Brady, according to unofficial results, has earned 126,845 votes, or 80 percent, compared to his Democratic challenger, Neil Burns.

Burns has earned 28,580 votes, or 18 percent. Libertarian Roy Hall received 3,094 votes, or 1.95 percent.

"Because I've never moved to Washington, voters know I never forget who I work for," Brady said. "Representing our communities in Congress is a privilege and I'm very thankful to my constituents for sending me back to work for them. I'll continue to fight for a stronger economy, lower taxes, balanced budget, secure border and greater freedom from the growing threat of big government."

In the race for District 8 of the U.S. House of Representatives, Republican incumbent Kevin Brady holds a strong lead over Democratic challenger Neil Burns, with 30 of 207 precincts reporting, according to unofficial results. Brady has garnered 26,625 votes, or 73.67 percent, compared to Burns' 8,960 votes, or 24.79 percent.

Libertarian Roy Hall has earned 551 votes, or 1.52 percent.

Brady has served District 8 since 1997.

District 8 covers 10 counties, including Montgomery, Walker, San Jacinto, Polk, Liberty, Hardin, Tyler, Jasper, Newton and Orange counties.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.
